Connect a Device ​

Features that use a connected device (SN Verification, Link Test, IMU Calibration, Gimbal Calibration, etc.) all require the app to recognize the device first.

Connect Step by Step ​

  1. Power the device on and wait for it to finish starting up.
  2. Connect the device to the PC with a USB data cable.
    • Make sure the cable can transfer data — a charge-only cable will not work.
    • Prefer a USB port directly on the PC motherboard; avoid hubs with loose contacts.
    • Mini-series drones must be connected to the PC within 10 seconds of powering on, or the connection will fail. If you miss the window, power-cycle the device and try again.
  3. The app detects the device automatically. The aircraft status pill in the top bar shows the model name, connection state and serial number. If the detection looks wrong, click Detect Again in the pill.

Special Requirements for Some Devices ​

OSMO Pocket 3: power it on first, then connect it to the PC. When the device screen shows "OTG connection" or "Webcam" options, do not tap them — tap Cancel instead, then the app can recognize the device properly.

Can't Detect the Device? ​

Work through these checks in order:

  1. Confirm the device is powered on and fully started (remember the 10-second limit for Mini-series drones).
  2. Unplug the cable, power-cycle the device (power it off and back on), then plug it into the PC again.
  3. Try a different USB cable that is known to transfer data.
  4. Try a different USB port.
  5. Check your account permissions: an account with only Link Test enabled and no other device features cannot recognize a device right now (see Account Permissions).

After a Successful Detection ​

Once the device is recognized, click the feature you need in the sidebar to get started. See Feature Guides for how each feature works.

Note: Operations such as Gimbal Calibration require the detection result to be in a valid USB-connected state. If the app prompts you to power-cycle the device, follow the prompt and run Detect Again.
