Obstacle Recovery

Sends an obstacle-avoidance recovery command to the aircraft as a recovery attempt when obstacle avoidance does not work after a repair.

This feature is only shown to accounts with access. If you don't see it in the left menu, your account doesn't have it enabled.

When to Use

• After a repair, obstacle avoidance does not work on takeoff and the obstacle avoidance switch cannot be turned on (seen on some models after repairs).

Before You Start

• The aircraft is powered on, connected to the computer, and detected (see Connect a Device).

Steps

1. After the aircraft is detected, open Obstacle Recovery.
2. Click Start Recovery.
3. When done, restart the aircraft and check whether the obstacle avoidance switch can be turned on.

Reading the Results

• The switch turns on: obstacle avoidance is back to normal.
• The switch still cannot be turned on: it may be a hardware problem; have it inspected.
• The page showing Sent only means the recovery command was sent — it does not mean obstacle avoidance is fixed. Go by the switch state.

If Something Goes Wrong

• Power-cycle the aircraft and try again.
• If the switch still cannot be turned on after several attempts: have the vision sensors and related hardware inspected.
